23rd day of the month and we have the first Flash Flood Warning of the month in Pennsylvania. First one since August 17th. #PAwx

24hr rainfall totals ending at 8AM this morning. A healthy dose of liquid in northern & western Pennsylvania, which is the area that has seen the worst drought conditions. #PAwx

Tyler Joseph and Josh Dunn absolutely deserve this. From writing lyrics, composing music, and story telling, Tyler is one of the greatest artists ever (seriously). Breach is some of their best work- A masterpiece.

Altoona has recorded 0.13" of precipitation today, ending the streak of 39 days with measurable precipitation less than 0.10". This was the second longest such streak for Altoona. #PAwx

Through the first 3 weeks of September most locations have not recorded an inch, ore even half an inch, of precipitation. This ranks as a top 4 driest September to date for Altoona, Bradford, and Williamsport. #PAwx

Since the beginning of August many locations have failed to record more than 2" of rain. For Altoona, Bradford, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, and Williamsport this ranks in the top 5 driest on record for this period. Altoona has only picked up 0.59", the driest on record! #PAwx

Some (bland) fall color showing up along the H&BT. Excited to check out the new section connecting Warriors Path State Park and Riddlesburg. A very nice paved path stuck between the hillside and the Juniata River. 🍂

The GFS (blue line) has 4" of rain for State College through the next week. While an outlier, the outlook for rain looks good! #PAwx

The squirrels are collecting more nuts than usual this year. So far 3 of my neighbors have disappeared...

I was finally able to capture the turkeys under the bird feeder with my GoPro tonight. They have been coming around for a while now. There are a total of 12 but are not all in frame here. 🦃

Just took a walk in the woods and there is a section of Tulip trees that have lost over half of the leaves already. It was very crunchy walking underneath them.

There is some nice color out there. Photos from the Bells Gap Trail today. The leaves started changing because it has been dry & there were cool mornings, giving some decent color. A concern that I have now is that as it gets warmer, it will hurt the color. More brown & they will fall off faster.

After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.
