I am chaperoning the high school quiz bowl team on an out of town trip that requires getting on a plane and spending five days in a big city. Remember me.

I am at the point in my final term of the MFA where I just need to cross the finish line, even if someone drags me across. Sigh.

Writing is hard because it's so easy to say absolutely nothing at all

I finished my last book of the term and thus was able to finish my cumulative annotated bibliography, one of the requirements for graduation. And I have started to format my final manuscript, another one. Hell, I might actually graduate in June.

Of course, also this week, my left ankle is back in a brace. Can't win them all.

As of this week, I am six years sober.

I got glowing feedback from my mentor on a hard writing assignment, so what did I do? I crashed out. Complete sobfest.

Of course, these are the assignments the week the kid is at home sick with the flu. Like, c'mon, universe, why?

My sixth grader is doing inequalities in math, which requires greater than and less than. My old nemeses have returned. I'm not helping because I'm wrong every time.

Am I just overly tired because I haven't slept well in forever or am I coming down with the flu?
