Deeply saddened by the loss of Melissa and Mark Hortman. Rep. Hortman was a friend, and a model of leadership and service that improved the lives of every Minnesotan. Violence has no place in our politics and we’re committed to the kindness and decency she modeled every day.

The Minnesota Senate just passed the agriculture omnibus bill, which funds the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, the Board of Animal Health, AURI, and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development Office of Broadband for the coming two years.

The Minnesota House and Senate just agreed to a final agriculture bill! And not long after, co-Chairs Rep. Paul Anderson and Rep. Rick Hansen earned broad bipartisan support from their colleagues in the House.

Bipartisan support for Senate Ag Committee Chair Aric Putnam’s ag omnibus bill, which prioritizes funding for the MN Department of Agriculture, preparedness for zoonotic disease at the Board of Animal Health, increased support for Farm to School, and a new Local Food Purchasing Assistance program!

The FTC has helped strengthen standards for merger enforcement and is currently fighting to protect farmers from unfair practices. This legislation could limit enforcement and jeopardize efforts to ensure fair and competitive markets across our economy.

The Minnesota House just made history in passing the Agriculture Omnibus (Senate File 2446) — the first budget bill of the 2025 session crafted by bipartisan co-chairs in a 67-67 tied House!
