The Trump Admin has hollowed out farm technical assistance at USDA, shedding 25% of conservation staff. This week, I met with the MN Assn of Conservation Districts to discuss how Congress can get MN producers back on track and protect farmers and our environment from Trump’s MN-last policies.

The Republican House majority had the opportunity to fund TSA, FEMA and the Coast Guard today on a bipartisan basis. Instead, they jammed through a bill that would fund Trump’s out of control ICE and sent Congress home during a partial shutdown. Shameful.

Early this morning, the Senate voted to fund critical parts of DHS that do NOT include ICE or CBP. Republicans need to bring it to a vote in the House immediately. Our airports are a disaster. Let’s pay TSA agents, stop the airport chaos and get the essential parts of DHS back up and running.

Oudone Lothirath, a Minnesotan who is battling aggressive cancer, was denied chemotherapy while in ICE custody. Now he’s on hospice. Oudone isn’t alone. Trump’s ICE has continuously treated detainees as subhuman, denied them life-saving medication and care and sent folks into critical condition.

Anthropic refused to participate in a DOD contract without basic safety guardrails (like ensuring Claude isn’t used for mass surveillance of Americans). In response, President Trump is threatening to designate Anthropic a “national security threat,” effectively blacklisting the company.

Kristi Noem’s ICE terrorized our state with their tactics during Operation Metro Surge, incurred thousands of dollars in costs for our cities and left local leaders to foot the bill. ICE needs to be held accountable for the economic damage they’ve inflicted on our state.
