From Governance Board's Calendar view, you can submit your public comments, or attend any of the meetings of the Governance Board, or their sub committees. The Governance Board must deliver a plan for how Oregon can finance, administer, and transition to a universal health care system for Oregon.

Oregon Universal Health Care in two easy waivers! Two pieces of this giant puzzle of bringing universal health care to Oregon are some federal waivers, the 1115 waiver which let's Oregon have more flexibility with our Medicaid $$, and the 1332 waiver which will let Oregon have ACA flexibility.

Here's a message we received from a striking worker: "I am writing to inform you that, effective December 2nd, 140 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across all five Legacy Health hospitals will begin an open-ended strike."

Physicians have been at the front lines, and have seen the results of previous increased regulation of work requirements for Medicaid. People who can not afford prescriptions and preventative care have, and will, tax the emergency department systems.

We met Sadie at the first Portland Chapter Plan Bingo event, in early October. This is an important issue because every needs healthcare. Everybody should have access to healthcare, regardless of their employment. Sadie shared her personal story about losing her job.

It really truly is a no-brainer. This transition will be a positive change for patients, doctors, and medical providers. When people don't have to struggle wondering whether they can afford care, they will get the care that they need, which will lead to better health outcomes.
