(reposting here) Watching CSI (the original 2000 one) now as my next long TV show to have on in the background as I do things. I love the 35mm film, extreme cast shadows, and stylistic stage setting of some shots here and there that have more of a comic book feel (complimenting the shadows).

Think I have to move up making an appointment for my arthritis in my hands/wrists. I can barely hold a phone and type/move my fingers. It’s so painful and stiff, it’s like I’m some stupid fantasy character trying to use The Force to bend my fingers to my will but they won’t.

I am not setting any goals for the new year both for my own mental health and because I don't typically do so anyway. All I hope is that I become employed and move into my own apartment again. I also want/need to visit doctors more often in the next year to repair my health.

I still haven't learned all the Uma/real life race horse stories, but so far Nice Nature is my favorite. I love that a horse was so beloved by his stable caretaker and his fans despite never winning a G1 (highest grade) race. He became the "bronze collector" and was still loved, lived to age 35.

In the new year, I need to see someone about my right arm and hand. It’s inflamed all the time and hurts terribly. No amount of sleep, stretching, putting it on ice, medicine, or holding it dead at my side helps. Just all fucked up from the elbow down.

I met my maternal gma’s niece this weekend for the first time. She was prob 80-smth years old. She lived on a small corner of land not far from where my grandparents lived, beside her childhood home and in a tiny mobile unit. Stray cats and a dog named Chiquito lived there, too.
