my 3d work is far from perfect, and at times it'll show in Ersatz, but there is no better way to learn than by doing! With that said, I haven't much to post for a while, now that the main cast has been introduced. But I'm really, seriously proud of the project and grateful for friends & community.

I would of course like to pitch Ersatz, but I'm not doing this with the expectation of anything at all except to have accomplished a big project. I don't recommend trying to create an indie pilot in this way - but it has benefited my skillset and workflow enormously.

The current plan for Ersatz is to run a kickstarter late this year when the project is almost done, so I can afford to properly hire composers and audio engineers. Animating by myself means I can keep the cost much lower than would be expected , but it's still a lot!

I started December 2018, on and off for a few years, but I only got decent at it around November 2021-Jan 2022 when I made my first short animations. Then I kept working on it, got a bit better, so in March 2024 I started writing Ersatz.

Some updates: Ersatz is nearly done, just needs audio production. Kickstarter is looking to be September, with pre-launch in August. I've been working a ton on this so it's exciting to be near the finish line!
