Curriculum providers do not care about educational outcomes. They do not care about kids. They care about making money. Their goal is to create a product that will sell.

Given the literacy crisis and subsequent lawsuits against Fountas & Pinnell, Calkins, & other one stop shop curriculum providers, one would hope our takeaway would be to end mandated curriculum fidelity. Trust. The. Teachers.

If you don’t have a library card go get one. Even if you don’t plan on using it right away, go get one. Keep our libraries alive.
