There is a large protest scheduled for 10/18 & have been scattered protests away from downtown but major events continue to take place in Chicago. Cubs @ Wrigley tonight; Chicago Marathon w/50k runners from around the world happening as scheduled 1 day before this match would have been played.

Also think this is important w/reporting out there that "immigration crackdown & protests" caused event to move - These were for-sale seats as of 1PM CT today and I'm being told commercial concerns drove the move.

Not surprised he won. He has a real shot at making the World Cup roster next summer.

Mexico walking away with this one, 3-0. Biggest thing to close out this game is to not pick up any YCs. A couple players on the field are at risk of missing next game due to YC accumulation

Golazo by ĂŤker Fimbres to put Mexico up 2-0. Brutal for Chile as they have clearly been the better team in the 2nd half but remain scoreless

Chile trying to get physical with Mexico and especially Mora this half. Safe to say, they’ve had all the momentum through the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half

The world cup ticket price increases from 2022 are INSANE. Category 4 tickets for opening match, group stage, round of 16, and final are 10x from 2022.

🔥STARTING XI🔥 A fairly rotated XI for Berhalter’s side tonight. Oregel and Pineda making their first starts in over a month, Gutierrez enters the attack, and Maren stays on after a MOTM performance midweek. Bamba, D’avilla, Dean all start on the bench.

FIFA will charge both sellers and buyers a 15 per cent fee on its official 2026 World Cup ticket resale platform, which launched on Thursday and almost immediately had some tickets listed for tens of thousands of dollars. đź”—

I wrote this after last month's friendlies that Vasco should lean into a back 5 so his fullbacks could attack/ create width. After Huesca's ACL injury, I think that no longer is an option. Not sure who else in player pool can play as a dynamic RWB.

Edson Alvarez getting some Europa League minutes today off the bench for Fenerbahce. I think he's trending towards getting called up for October friendlies and maybe seeing action in 1 game before heading back to Turkey early.

Players that stood out to me: - Obed Vargas: 33/34 passes and very calm on the ball. Surprised he got subbed out in 74th minute - Gilberto Mora: had 5 key passes and provided assist off the corner

Mexico open their U20 WC campaign with a 2-2 draw versus Brazil. Next up is Spain on Wednesday. This is the toughest group of the tournament and just advancing would be a success.
