There's something really nice about doing a proper interview with filmmakers. I know PR teams love seeing clips and reels and anything funny online that's 'shareable' or could become a meme, but filmmakers much prefer to have a chat about the film they've made. Much more rewarding.

Bummed about SXSW Sydney disappearing. It was one of the the first (and sometimes only) festivals in Australia that screened films like Salt Along the Tongue, A Grand Mockery, Paco, Voices in Deep, and more. Aussie films need more festivals to support them, and SXSW Sydney was a great supporter.

I'm still cranky that Vimeo nixed their local app.
