I’m getting really good at leaving messages on my Senators’ voicemails. Apparently they can’t be bothered to staff the phone or return calls. Rep. Hern’s office, to his credit, always has a staffer pick up. But as a blue dot in the red red state of Oklahoma, I don’t think my calls mean much anyway.

I took a break from the madness to attend my first line dancing class at one of Tulsa Parks’ community centers. Excellent.

Flipping through the OK State Standards for Social Studies… 2nd graders will learn about “stories from Christianity that influenced the American colonists, Founders, and culture, including the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth (e.g. the “Golden Rule,” the Sermon on the Mount).”

Launching my own business has made me more attuned to how I use my time. I’m starting 2025 by reading “Atomic Habits: Tiny Changes, Remarkable Results” by James Clear. I have pretty good habits already, but the idea of shooting for 1% improvement each day is intriguing.

Favorite Christmas traditions? My Polish family and various friends bowl every Christmas Eve morning. 47 years running.

The Inauguration ceremony of Tulsa’s first Black Mayor included Hmong dancers and a Pawnee Honor Song and I was irrationally emotional.
