In onze collectieve procedure tegen de Belgische staat en Fedasil (in het kader van de opvangcrisis) werd de Belgische staat al veroordeeld door de gebrekkige toegang tot de asielprocedure. Nu zien we een herhaling van de feiten die resulteerden in die veroordeling.

Afgelopen weken zien we regelmatig een de facto asielquota aan het registratiecentrum. Als de registratiecapaciteit voor een dag is bereikt, geeft de DVZ afspraken af. Vandaag waren dit afspraken voor 16/01 (!) Tot die tijd heb je geen toegang tot de asielprocedure, wat uiterst problematisch is.

13 jaar doe ik vluchtelingenrecht en de eerste keer dat er door een bevoegd regeringslid wordt opgeroepen om vluchtelingenstatus te gaan intrekken voor een specifieke nationaliteit omdat de situatie er verbeterd zou zijn. Het is veel te vroeg, het is symbolisch maar de klap is niettemin reëel.

Personal thought on the situation of #Syrian asylum seekers & #refugees in #Europe: after more than a decade of displacement, the last thing people need is to have to worry about having to leave their homes (this time in Europe) again. Talking about return is not only premature, is simply cruel.
