Got to welding up my modified kickstands for easy movement in the hallways at the condo and storage space. They make loading and unloading groceries and stuff easier in tight spaces. They’re ugly but useful

For the entire winter 🥶 season this poor beloved bicycle had not been touched. Somehow it was abandoned after what looks like a crash last year. Now that the fair weather has returned, so has the thievery. Wondering how much longer the rest of it will remain.

Still refusing to get locked in a car 🚗 dependency thingamajigermeister. Staying happily sober from that scam, fixing my flat tires as they come up. Developed a marking system to sus out the offending perpetrator of dragging ass times 😂. This time it was a piece of glass slowing my ass down🤔

Critical Mass of cyclists passing a functional bike counter that just counts individual riders passing through its mysterious workings. The larger group of people on bikes wasn’t counted accurately sadly enough for its existence and encouragement to people who choose to be free from their cages 😭

In an effort to prevent future flat tires on my off the beaten path route to the jobhole, I took some time after work to kick away much of the broken glass that happens

With the days getting longer and the weather becoming warmer, I made the effort to take off the metal 🎸 studded winter 🥶 tires and the funky hand 🤚 warming gear ⚙️. Putting them away in storage for next year. So happy 😃 to be less encumbered with the extra survival gear ⚙️🚲😉

As always I enjoy the festive atmosphere of the crowd saturating the streets and alleys of my neighborhood. I just have to avoid the ones carrying gallon jugs of green “liquid”, giving me violent high fives and other ones trying to insult me with their hateful words

There is a bike lane here on Halsted south of Hubbard underneath the train tracks that has a piece of carbage that is becoming encrusted by the construction 🚧 dirt from the casino 🎰 further north for about a year now 😂

Watching the casino 🎰 being built, I thought 💭 for a moment that someone was posing on top of the recently constructed structure. It turns out that it was the beautiful sculpture, called the “Spirit of Progress” that resides on top of the building across the river from there.

Tested positive for load bearing 20 pounds of rice 🍚 on my cobbled together front rack from the Korean grocery store. The rack was salvaged from some bushes in a park

Had the unique opportunity to take a photo of a classic bicycle that’s older than this building’s lobby and it’s amongst Chicago’s earlier skyscrapers 🏙️

Had to change out the worn out drivetrain on my regular 🐎 pony. After wrecking the axel, I’m seriously considering not going with the current square taper bottom bracket. Going to switch to the more bonkers BMX crank and gear ⚙️ next time.

Acquired a discarded front rack on a south side ride from behind some bushes in the park 🌳. A fellow scavenger gave me a matching front light 💡 that stays on for a bit after riding a block or 2 with the help of my front generator hub

Great day for a protest 🪧 yesterday 🙌. Compared to the monthly Critical Mass Ride, this caused major traffic chaos for at least a two mile radius! So much 🤩 fun and creative political art 🖼️ to see. Wish I could have taken more pics of the memorable event

Pump up your tires, and lube up your chain! This Saturday, October 11th, 2025. The yearly ride around the perimeter of the city 🌆 will take place from 8:00 AM till about past midnight 🌃 or so. Meet up at Buckingham fountain ⛲️ and roll out at 9:00 AM. My friend Jerome Hughes will be misleading again

Swimming season is coming to a close with the shorter days 🌞and colder conditions. Thankful for the opportunity to get out and enjoy some time away from the grind with friends. Looking forward to next year

Every now and then a 🐠 🎣 person will come by our dive and swimming 🏊‍♂️ spot and pull out one of creatures 🐟 🐠 that I see under the water 💧. I have no idea 🤷🏽‍♂️ what this one is called but it was thrown back in the drink because it was too small

Swapping out the trusty ol single speed coaster brake for the new repaired two speed kickback coaster brake wheel 🛞. It’s a great way to keep gears ⚙️ simple but it can be challenging 😥 when it doesn’t work the way I intend to sometimes. Otherwise it’s really quite a joy 🤩
