Watching the casino 🎰 being built, I thought 💭 for a moment that someone was posing on top of the recently constructed structure. It turns out that it was the beautiful sculpture, called the “Spirit of Progress” that resides on top of the building across the river from there.

Tested positive for load bearing 20 pounds of rice 🍚 on my cobbled together front rack from the Korean grocery store. The rack was salvaged from some bushes in a park

Had the unique opportunity to take a photo of a classic bicycle that’s older than this building’s lobby and it’s amongst Chicago’s earlier skyscrapers 🏙️

Had to change out the worn out drivetrain on my regular 🐎 pony. After wrecking the axel, I’m seriously considering not going with the current square taper bottom bracket. Going to switch to the more bonkers BMX crank and gear ⚙️ next time.

Acquired a discarded front rack on a south side ride from behind some bushes in the park 🌳. A fellow scavenger gave me a matching front light 💡 that stays on for a bit after riding a block or 2 with the help of my front generator hub

Great day for a protest 🪧 yesterday 🙌. Compared to the monthly Critical Mass Ride, this caused major traffic chaos for at least a two mile radius! So much 🤩 fun and creative political art 🖼️ to see. Wish I could have taken more pics of the memorable event

Pump up your tires, and lube up your chain! This Saturday, October 11th, 2025. The yearly ride around the perimeter of the city 🌆 will take place from 8:00 AM till about past midnight 🌃 or so. Meet up at Buckingham fountain ⛲️ and roll out at 9:00 AM. My friend Jerome Hughes will be misleading again

Swimming season is coming to a close with the shorter days 🌞and colder conditions. Thankful for the opportunity to get out and enjoy some time away from the grind with friends. Looking forward to next year

Swapping out the trusty ol single speed coaster brake for the new repaired two speed kickback coaster brake wheel 🛞. It’s a great way to keep gears ⚙️ simple but it can be challenging 😥 when it doesn’t work the way I intend to sometimes. Otherwise it’s really quite a joy 🤩

The bike parking room is getting uncomfortably crowded lately. It’s a good problem to have. Maybe if even more people start riding in to work I can only hope they’ll build a better parking 🅿️ space for people to park their bicycles freely instead of a sardine can situation

Found this front Divvy Lyft basket tossed out in some bushes at a South Side Critical Mass Ride starting point park. Decided to change out my crazy original front rack to something more efficient. Going to miss my percolating discombobulating device

This driver kept tailing me in the Elston painted bike lane for a while and even angered other drivers cutting into the traffic lane to get back behind me light after light. Make this driver famous. The bell end honked angrily at me for taking this photo

Really appreciate that these two people ride their bikes 🚲 to work all year round, but the level of disrespect and carelessness is laughable. They only care about themselves when leaving their ponies 🐎 unlocked and in the way of anyone else trying to use the tiny bicycle room

Finally got around to rebuilding my regular tire 🛞 belt. Impressed with the quality of how tires for bicycles are constructed. This new belt will last me about another ten years or more perhaps 🤔
