Happy January 6th to all those who celebrate!

Finally watched Sinners and it lived up to the hype. It’s very Demon Knight/From Dusk til Dawn with a dash of Disney’s Coco sprinkled in. Beautifully shot, acted, and the underlying message is strong.

My take on the gag: very much like JEMP truck. A nod to their history. Like how they got from the Hood factory to now. Milk was poured out and along with it pieces of their past. It wasn’t just old NYE gag characters (ex. wombat and Gump weren’t) but an ice cream bowl of old stuff they’ve done.

People are seriously thinking the gag was a political statement…?????

Series finale of Stranger Things was satisfying. Not perfect (show was never perfect to begin with) but very feel-goody, perhaps too much. They put the trite comment in there as a little “we know, know” - on the nose but hey, most shows fail when it comes to landing and this was straight fan service
