Our MFA has no residency requirement, and our courses are eight weeks, allowing students flexible access to write and study from the comforts of home. We have students from around the country and the world, creating a vibrant, dynamic, and diverse community of writers!

While some MFAs sneer at genre fiction, at Lindenwood, we're excited about all kinds of stories. In her Science Fiction Literature and Workshop course, Nicole McInnes works with students to explore the genres challenges and archetypes through model texts and student writing. tinyurl.com/4vkb54yh

Interested in the film industry? Teal Minton's The Narrative Arc in Film peels back the layers of narrative film structure, using the classic Hollywood movie as a starting point. Students study acts, arc, movement, and character, building their own stories throughout the term. tinyurl.com/ms3hymah

Our MFA is not only craft-focused, but industry-focused as well, with many classes that explore the ins and outs of publishing. Take IMF60800, The Practical Writer Toolkit, for example, where Shana Youngdahl helps writers crack the industry--from getting an agent to signing a contract and more.
