just because media is uncomfortable for you doesn’t mean it shouldn’t exist. the update to bluesky’s tos is disappointing. if you don’t like a movie don’t watch it, if you don’t like a book don’t read it. bluesky is built so that you have complete agency and control over the content you see

Restricting the expression of sexuality through fiction and art made by adults, for adults – including those you find personally disturbing or offputting – is conservative censorship, full stop. When that censorship disproportionately affects subgroups, that's also discrimination. For shame.

New TOS censorship of fictional adult content is a massive overreach and makes this definitively not a free and open platform. It demonizes survivors and silences artists. Everyone is telling you a much healthier way is to give us better tools, like more robust labels, to moderate ourselves
