We FINALLY got a successful test print! It has some mild ringing but it’s not cooling related! We can work with that from here! The new fan duct design is a step in the right direction! Now I just need a sturdier table lol @zombiehedgehog.com _ galaxy red makes for great benchies!

Appreciate everyone who made it to the livestream tonight! After a few tweaks fixed in Klipper, we were finally able to push plastic through in my first ever 3D printer, for the first time in 2.5 years! It’s not perfect by any means but it’s a good start! @kb-3d.bsky.social

Tomorrow, for the first time in 2.5 years… We shall (hopefully) push plastic thru this machine once again!

Slowly working on klipper macros for the Anycubic Mega X rebuild. If all works correctly, this should heat the bed, probe the locations on the bed, reach z=0, and then I should be able to manually adjust each location with the ol' "piece of paper" and leveling knobs.

Well good news. I was able to finally connect to the klipper UI with the rebuilt Anycubic printer. Bad news, my extruder log temp isn't quite right 🤣 Time to check my wire connections and config files. Klipper is fun they said...

While the streams this week were non existent, work for the Anycubic Mega X rebuild was! Was able to clean up the wiring for the new board and get everything back together! There is still work to do with the exterior wiring and the klipper config but it’s getting there!

So all in all, the only casualty of my printer traveling back from #MRRF2025. The tensioner screw got bent inside the Bondtech bmg extruder. I could maybe bend the screw back in place or just get a new thumbscrew. But all in all this printer made the trek ok!

Exactly 5 years (and 2 days) ago, this was where my 3D printing journey began. An Anycubic Mega X Little did I know what would happen since then. I gained a passion for a new hobby, started to create content a few months later, and made a slew of new friendships! 🧵1/4
