April 2025: NEJM, JAMA, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Chest all got vaguely threatening letters from U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin Jr., asking whether they “accept articles…from competing viewpoints” and hinting that editorial decisions may be scrutinised under “relevant fraud regulations.”
