Reached the ending of Hades II. Yeah, that's not great. I understant why they went with that, since it's thematically in line with the first game, but it needed far more setup to work and even then, there were other paths they coould have taken (better ones, in my opinion)

The new trigun trailer is literally a hollywood action teaser, complete with the echoey piano at the beginning. I had the exact same issue with the first season, despite enjoying the animation. Anime may be formulaic but it was its own formula, at least

I've reached the infamous Last Judge runback in Silksong and I have to say, it's not that bad. I also beat the boss in 4 tries so maybe if you're forced to do it dozens of times it's worse but I found the platforming relatively straightforward.

Sliksong is absolutely wonderful man, I'm having a blast with it. I hope they don't nerf the economy, the commentary with the beads and faith is great. All the cheeky humor is great. More bech traps please, and thank you Team Cherry.

One of the most surprising things, besides Hornet's mobility, is the ammount of dialogue. Even unique one, that happens if you sequence break or encounter things out of order. Very detailed. Great game so far

This is such a stupid and superficial post. Yes
Qzil.la
is a bad company with involvement in Ai bu they also produced plenty of animation that has no Ai in it. This project is helmed by a talented team of industry veterans, and dismissing their work like this with no proof is a bad look.

I've been replaying Drakengard and I have to drop all pretenses: I love this game and not only in a pretentious "The story is interesting but the gameplay is bad" type of way. I like the gameplay too. Clunky, grindy and underbaked as it may be I like it all the same.

Been reading The Gunslinger these past days, devouring it mostly. Baffled to think people ever described this book as slow or boring. It is many things (weirdly horny, tense, weirdly funny) but none of those two.

I was far less cynical than other people when that first trailer dropped but man, this one is abysmal.

I'm playing 9 Years of Shadows and this is clearly made by people who love old anime, chiefly Saint Seiya. It's a mix that normally would not work, but it does. A contrast of old and new that could be jarring but isn't (much). Volta animation did the intro/trailer

I have been playing The Great Ace Attorney and I must admit, rarely I've seen such an apt representation of the British. Foppish, arrogant, openly racist yet somehow patting themselves on the back for being so openminded as to mingle with the lesser cultures.

First New PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT episode was... ok. Just fine. I don't want to do a too extensive analysis, just found some things a bit underwhelming with respect to what Imaishi could have (and has already) done.

People saying BG3 falls hard in Act 3 were right. While there is some interesting stuff, the structure of the act just doesn't work well and everything feels like a side mission. The nice interwoven stories between side and main quests are almost completely lost.

Been playing through Lies of P(eak)'s DLC so I'll compile my thoughts here. 'Gator - What a cool boss. All his tells are very clean, it's very aggressive and puts a lot of pressure on you. At the beginning you barely know what to do and by the end you're clowning on it.

Funny, I think I broke Cazador's fight in BG3. I had cast Daylight on my character so when getting close to him the fight started without the cutscene playing, and he was a lot weaker since the ritual was not started.

I listened to/read some coverage of the recent game events and I must say, I feel completely disconnected from mainstream game media. I feel a distinct lack of depth to the way people cover this stuff now, a lack of curiosity and enthusiasm, for both the aesthetics and the mechanics.

I've had very little free time lately but I'm still chimbling away at Baldur's Gate 3, the end of Act 2 was absolute peak. I've also been obsessed with this album

I think the reason I'm enjoying Baldur's Gate 3 so much, besides it being an excellent game overall, are the characters. in many a western RPG, characters are wet rags with barely any sauce. Dare I say, BG3 managed to make JRPG characters in a western game.

So, I decided to give Baldur's Gate 3 another chance, since I'm in a more welcoming mood and I have to say I'm loving it. Karlach just accidentally killed Gale and I was laughing my ass off when the projection started playing.

You can truly understand if a person is worth listening to about storytelling if they like, or not, the scenes in Eva where the crew at base just fires off technobabble while cool graphic design with "Code Blue" and "Angel" flash on the screen (or whatever western equivalent)

That Clair Obscur game looked interesting but due to the constant "the next evolution in JRPGs" advertisments I've seen for months now, I'm starting hate it on principle Imagine being so full, you think you're the next big thing I an genre from a completely different country. French people, I swear

I am surprised, but not that surprised, by how many extreme metal bands there are explicitly inspired FromSoftware. This band (a solo project) is called Fell Omen. The name of their first Album? Invaded by A Dark Spirit. Me too buddy, me too.

The funny thing is, for a brief moment after BW2, I truly thought this was the way they wanted to go. There are several moments in the games where 2D illustrations take the center stage. The intro for BW; meeting N at the ferris wheel; calls in BW2. They decied to go with the worst way instead.

Aesthetically, what I mostly dislike about newer Pokemon games, is the departure from their 2D roots. And it's an incompetent departure to boot. The smartest route the franchise could take would be to imitate Neo: TWEWY. Interactions between characters should be 2D.

Swano's recent Remix and Remaster of Purgatory Afterglow are decent, more effective than recent operations of this kind At the same time I often prefer the original because of familiarity and also because a "better" mix is not always better A "bad" mix can still be good, give identity to the album

The "erasure of self" section is particularly poignant, as a relatively poor child living in easern europe my experiences playing games were also very different from the idealized US versions getting peddled online. My first game was Prince of Persia, the MS-DOS version, played on an old Pentium

Gifted myself Nine Sols for Christmas and the hype was well deserved, the game is excellent. Art Design s very cool and a surprising evolution on Red Candle's previous horror efforts, their heritage as studio shines through. Gameplay is pure kino. I hope it continues to sell, they deserve it.

Youtube's bitrate and encode at 1080p are an absolute disaster. And that is still what most people, and companies, use. Every trailer I see is smeared to shit with artifacts and now they seem to have an higher bitrate option, just to sell Premium.

I finished A Wizard of Earthsea and it was truly wonderful, a palate cleanser for me. The full omniscient third person is rarely used, since many modern books are too cought up in their mistery and character dynamics but here everything is sincere and laid bare.
