I was born into a world which had warmed by just 0.35°C since pre-industrial times. If I live to a ripe old age and the current warming trend continues, I'll experience a world 2°C warmer than pre-industrial. As a scientist I'm horrified by the prospect of what that will be like.

Astonishing: Thames Water was fined £18.2m on 19 Dec 2024 by OFWAT for violating dividend payment rules. It hasn't paid the fine. The Minister says TW "has until 20 August 2025 to pay the fine.". TW has over 187 criminal convictions, allowed to negotiate fines.

A good day @ Cambridge Planning Committee - an application to fell three 125 year old trees on St Matthew's Piece, which a newish house alleged was causing subsidence, was REFUSED unanimously. This is the 4th time the application has come forwards. Curious that none of the 19C houses are affected.
