Editing around my day job is so wild! I'm learning so much about myself! 4-6 AM me is this creative genius whose legacy 6-8 PM me is forever trying to live up to. Meanwhile, 6-8 PM me can spot an errant comma from miles away while 4-6 AM me couldn't give fewer fucks about conventions!

I'm just a gender fluid individual sitting in front of an unyielding manuscript begging it to edit itself...

I feel like someone needs to know that I, too, have deeply internalized the oversimplified rules for socialization we learned in elementary school and that I, too, am constantly confounded by the lack of structure in adult conversations and that I deadpan to the camera in solidarity.

Update: I wrote something small that may eventually become something big, but I just got back my manuscript so I'm reluctantly shelving it to do these edits.
