Tonight's movie. I've only seen this once, a long time ago. Seems kind of forgotten now, though. Perhaps its too much a product of its time.

Twilight Zone S03E16 'Nothing in the Dark' I've heard that this was one of Robert Redford's favorite of his early roles. And it's easy to believe because this one is a definite classic.

TwilightZone S03E14 'Five Characters in Search of an Exit' Not to take away from a truly great episode, but I always wondered about how this one references the Pirandello play so heavily. The premise is similar, but it's not the same idea beyond the surface at all.

Tonight's movie. RIP Bud Cort. I thought I might watch Harold and Maude, but instead I thought I'd go with another gem of his that I haven't watched as much.

Twilight Zone S03E10 'The Midnight Sun' One of the rare times when the twist is not the best part of the episode. It's everything that leads up to it that's really great.

I find it's easier to enjoy Starfleet Academy if you don't expect/ demand it be like DS9, or TNG, or any of the other shows. Same goes for Discovery or Strange New Worlds. Watch it for its self. None of them are perfect, sure, but neither are your memories of Kirk, Picard, Sisco, or Janeway etc.

Twilight Zone S03E09 'Deaths-Head Revisited' This, for me, might be the most underrated classic episode, and one of my favorites. The comeuppance storyline is rarely done as effectively or as deservedly as it is in this.

Twilight Zone S03E08 'It's a Good Life' This might be one of the most unnerving, horrific things in TV history. I've never been able to look at a jack-in-the-box without thinking of this.

Lotta things going on at the moment writing wise. None of which I can talk about yet. But at least one of those might be changing pretty soon.

Twilight Zone S03E05 'A Game of Pool' I'm actually shocked this isn't one Serling wrote. Probably Jack Klugman's best episode, which is saying something as all of his are excellent. And Jonathan Winters in it is a great example that if you have perfect comedic timing, dramatic timing is easy.

Tonight's movie. In this film you can see kernels of most of the themes and ideas that Kieslowski explored in his later works. Perhaps they're not as evolved yet, or delivered with the same subtle beauty, but they're still there.

Twilight Zone S03E01 'Two' Maybe the best episode Serling didn't write. Beautifullly written and shot, very demure, subtle even, with Bronson and Montgomery working at the very top of their game.

Just a few minutes into tonight's Starfleet Acedemy episode and I can't stop giggling.

Twilight Zone, S02E28, 'Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?' I've never been a big fan of Serling's funny/ silly/ cute episodes, but I suppose this one comes closest for me. But only to the point of not knowing what to think of it.

Twilight Zone S02E16, 'The Invaders' This to me is one of the more underrated episodes. Agnes Moorehead is amazing and she doesn't do more than grunt the whole time, it's all in her expression. It's epsidoes that took chances like this that made this show iconic.

The most deep cut surprise appearance in all of Twilight Zone: Sydney Pollack in 'The Trouble with Templeton'. Swear to God I never recognized him in all the years of watching this show. And I still wouldn't have known this is him if I didn't happen to notice his name in the credtis.

Twilight Zone S02Ep06 - 'The Eye of the Beholder' The twist in this story is so ingrained in the zeitgeist most people would get it right way. No surprise at all. But it doesn't matter; it's so well made in every way that seeing the twist coming does nothing to take away from how excellent it is.

Tonight's movie. It's surprising to me how fast these big films get to streaming these days. Used to be months after it's already out of theaters, the run itself being months as well. But I guess that's the new business model.

Twilight Zone, season one episode 32 - 'A Passage For Trumpet' This is one of my very favorite episodes. First of Jack Klugman's four great outings. Right up there with the best.

Tonight's movie. This one has both problematic moments and magnificent moments in it. If you can get through the one you are greatly rewarded with the other.

Today in summary

It's crazy how one of the all-time worst Twilight Zone episodes, 'The Fever' can come right after 'The Hitchhiker' and be followed by 'The Last Flight', two of the best episodes of the entire series.

Tonight's movie. Peter Greenaway to me is a lot like Terrence Malick, as in his films it feels like he's using a totally different film language than everyone else. And even in films where it doesn't work (not saying it doesn't in this one, because it definitely does), it is still so fascinating.

the question to ask about this is, okay, he wants to cancel the midterms. how does he get the VA state board of elections to cancel the midterms? how does he get the georgia board of elections to do it? how does he convince republican house members to quit their jobs and give up their paychecks?

They hate Schumer because he's a Jew. They hate Jeffries because he's black. They hated Hillary and Pelosi because they were women. They hate Kamala because she's black and a woman. Their hate prevents them from attacking the people who are actually responsible for all this: The Republicans.

Tonight's movie. Lanthimos is a very intriguing filmmaker. I've seen most of his stuff and while it doesn't always work for me, it is always interesting. And worth watching.

I get it. Binary thinking is safe and doesn't give you the chance to step out of the box. Binary thinking is harmful and you can see it in real life now, in discourses where people are now dogmatic, refuse to listen etc. (I am talking about the left) (but punch bigots and nazis - they deserve it)

Tonight's movie. Well, not actually a movie. But string the whole short series together (like I did with the episodes) it can be watched as one. And it works really well that way.

I’m a lot bigger account than this guy is and he’s gotten enough attention, hence screenshot not quote, but it’s a sad commentary on this benighted website that we see this same dumb unoriginal analogy again and again, and each time it gets like 5K likes and people like “hell yeah brother!”

Tonight's movie. It's no reflection on this film that I've fallen asleep watching it on several occasions. It's more to do with how late I often decide to start watching it. I napped a good amount this afternoon, so I'm optimistic about my chances tonight.

Tonight's movie. My hatred of musicals is well known. They're all little more than bad operas as far as I'm concerned. But when Parker and Stone do it, the crude and cynical humor make it worthwhile to me, strangley enough.

Tonight's (second) movie. Finishing off the trilogy. This is actually the first Kieslowski film I ever saw, my second week in college. Honestly it was probably the first time in my life I really grasped that films could be like this.

I started a re-watch of Star Trek: Enterprise recently. Which is not a bad show if you remember to skip the opening theme song. Which so far I have done without fail.
