Thanks to everyone who has brought in their assembly t-shirts. We are going to do a dress rehearsal on Thursday (19th) and are looking forward to performing our assembly for you on Friday, 20th February at 9.30am.

This week we have been learning about fact families.

We continued our work on time this week. We estimated how long a task would take then used a timer to time it. We also discussed timetables and when they would be used in everyday life.

This week we have been learning about the Australian Outback. We wrote fact files and used watercolours to paint lovely pictures of Uluru (Ayers Rock).

In addition to our daily ERIC (Everyone Reading In Class) sessions, we have also been enjoying DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time. 📚 #readingschoolsweek

We really enjoyed our first session in our new school library. We had a lovely quiet, calm time reading for pleasure. ☺️📚

As part of our hot and cold lands topic we learned about rainforests and created this lovely artwork.

This week we have been learning about time. We revised o’clock and half past on analogue and digital clocks then we looked at quarter past and quarter to. 🕣🕙

As part of our hot and cold lands topic we learned about deserts. We discussed that they are very dry areas of land that get less than 25cm of rainfall each year. They can be hot or cold. We looked at the Sahara desert and painted these lovely landscapes. 🏜️🌵🐪🦂

We wrote fact files ensuring we included key features such as subheadings.

We used the visual elements of art and the pointillism technique to create these lovely 2026 calendars. We hope you find them useful at home.

We are continuing our work on fractions this week. We are learning about fractions of amounts, fractions on a number line and equivalent fractions.

We enjoyed some free play this afternoon after a busy first week back at school.

Today we did a STEM challenge to see who could make the longest paper chain from 4 sheets of paper in 20 minutes. The winners were A and M. Well done.👏

We have been learning about rounding and have been rounding numbers to the nearest 10.

This week in science we were learning that Earth spins around its axis in 24 hours resulting in day and night. We also discussed how the tilt of the Earth on its axis as it circles the sun causes the pattern of the seasons.
