We have been learning about rounding and have been rounding numbers to the nearest 10.

This week in science we were learning that Earth spins around its axis in 24 hours resulting in day and night. We also discussed how the tilt of the Earth on its axis as it circles the sun causes the pattern of the seasons.

We enjoyed playing some new games in PE this week. There was some super teamwork.

This week we compared and described number relationships using the symbols for equals, less than and greater than.

This week we learned about the phases of the moon. We discussed why it appears to have different shapes and positions in the sky at different times in a lunar month.

We’re really enjoying our reward afternoon today. 😊

We continued learning about subtraction this week.

We have been learning about story structure and are writing our own creative stories. We have created characters and settings and have written the beginning and middle of our stories. Next week we will write the end. I can’t wait to find out what happens.

This week we learned about Remembrance Day and created this lovely poppy art.

We chose a planet then worked with a partner to research information about it. We found out lots of interesting facts from books and iPads.

We enjoyed some free play this afternoon.

This week in numeracy we have been working on subtraction.

We were developing our ball skills in PE this week 🏐

These boys created this wonderful “panda city” during free play today.

There was some super teamwork again in PE this week. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

We have been practising punctuation and thinking about when we should use a full stop, question mark and exclamation mark.⁉️

We have been learning about growth mindset and used it to complete a challenge. We worked in teams to build a chair that would hold our class worry monster. There was a lot of trial and error and we realised that mistakes are good as we learn from them. Well done everyone.

We continued developing our mental agility with some addition chilli challenges and games.

Today we finished our class novel ‘The Boy Who Grew Dragons’ and wrote a book review about it. Most of us rated the book 5/5. 😊📚

Last week we created our own characters and this week we wrote character descriptions about them.

This week is Dyslexia Awareness Week in Scotland. We discussed that dyslexia is a common learning difficulty that mainly causes problems with reading, writing and spelling. We thought about our strengths and things we struggle with. We also had a lovely time reading with P7. 📚
