We have created candy cane decorations for the Christmas Fair tomorrow. We focused on shading and highlighting using oil pastels. Blown away with the hard work and focus during this lesson. ⭐️😊

Yesterday we took part in a live lesson from the author of Grimwood. We completed a draw along tutorial which showed us how to draw two of the main characters from the story 😊⭐️.

We are celebrating book week by sorting our library deciding which books to donate and which to keep we will also be making a display to celebrate the books we enjoy and share our recommendations 📚⭐️.

This week for our writing lesson we have been creating posters about our school. We had to include a title, subheading’s, a labelled diagram, a list and at least one paragraph 😊⭐️.

As we are dressing on Friday as superhero’s, in relation to our Changemakers topic. We have spent time looking for books/comics about superhero’s or real life hero’s. If anyone has a book that they would like to bring in tomorrow that has a superhero theme. That would be great 🦸‍♀️🦹‍♂️.

We had a fantastic time at Lendrick Muir. Everyone showed resilience and perseverance even when they were feeling nervous.😊

We are all very excited about heading to Lendrick Muir on Monday. Children should head to class like normal with their bag and we will all leave when the buses arrive😊 ⭐️.

A few of the children from the Rights Respecting Club went up to Balliefields Community Centre today to learn more about the community garden. They had the chance to plant some lettuce and had a wee little treat 🥬 😊⭐️.

This week we will be focusing on times tables. Any opportunity to practise these at home would be great. Top marks has lots of free games and I have uploaded a BBC Bitesize link with songs and clips to teams that children can use to help 😊.

This week is Dyslexia Awareness Week. We have been exploring what this means and the strengths that people with dyslexia may have. We have watched and taken notes, researched dyslexic celebrities and are currently designing dyslexia friendly classrooms 😀.

This afternoon we are creating adverts using iMovie on our iPads. These adverts are related to our change makers project. We hope to share these with you on our open afternoon 😊.

This afternoon we had the choice of two maths challenges one was to calculate how many squares does the picture contain and the other was to write a maths inspired story using the Maths Week Scotland mascot Finn Finity 😊➗🟰➕➖

This week we are focusing on addition. We have spoken about different ways you can calculate addition problems. We have looked at numbers up to millions and also numbers to two decimal places 😊.

If possible could children be reminded to charge iPads at home, quite a few are forgetting and we don’t have the space to charge very many in the class. Thank you 😊📱
