Been a while since I have decided to pick up an Assassin's Creed game (Black Flag was the last), but this one spoke to me. Going to likely be a very long undertaking, though. At least 60+ hours. One of the longest games I have in my backlog, if not the longest. Probably start that this weekend.

Finished the main quest in Horizon Zero Dawn last night. Still have probably half of the Frozen Wilds DLC left, so not adding it to the Done thread just yet. I imagine I will have plenty of time to get that (and side quests) done tonight, though.

I figure it's a good time to finally knock out one (or potentially both) of the remaining Mega Man titles I have left. I'll probably take a day off tomorrow, then I'll take part of Friday afternoon/evening to get my bearings back and hopefully knock it out either Saturday or Sunday.

I only have a few games left that are under 30 hours (main story and side quests included), so time to start hacking away at some mid-size/long journeys. I figure a potential 40-hour adventure is as good as a place as any to start. I have some games that are at least double that to look forward to.

Definitely feels right to keep on the Spider-Man track, especially with the controls being fresh on the mind, so I am gonna go straight to the sequel from here. Might take a day or two break, though, due to me hitting the PS5 HARD this past month+. Or I could start tomorrow. We will see, hahaha.

I did go through the first Spider-Man PS4 game about 6 years ago and both (a) really enjoyed it and (b) earned a Platinum on it. Never got around to the Miles Morales spin-off and sequel, so will probably do those two next. Getting both done probably won't take particularly long, either. Win-win.

As for overall backlog progress, getting through 5 games this month and starting a 6th? Big win, IMO. Still have 14 that will be a first playthrough, 2 games I played before but want to go through again, and 6 coming out later this year. If I get 2 done a month from here, I clear it out.

I've seen bits and pieces of Outer Worlds a while back but not the full game. This is also one of two games on my backlog where the original is there but the game's sequel could also be added depending on how much I enjoy it. I'll probably get a start on that tomorrow.

Megadeth's final album: Solid but unspectacular. Dave's lost a few steps as a songwriter (and singer), but the new guitarist is fantastic, and the instrumentation of the album as a whole is impressive. A worthy send-off for them. Highlights: "Let There Be Shred," "I Don't Care," "The Last Note"

Trying to knock out a few quicker games in my backlog. Make the volume of backlog games less daunting. Got two Mega Man games left in particular that will likely be 1-day affairs on a day off/weekend. Dark Ages will be a sub-20 hour undertaking in the meantime. I'll probably start on it tomorrow.

Between Durbin, Frelick, and now Jett Williams, Brewers are officially turning into Team Short King. For real, though, I like this return a lot for the Brewers. #30 overall prospect per MLB Pipeline and a pitcher who is certainly helping you this year is about as good as you can get for a rental.

I'll probably start Astro Bot on Thursday unless I feel the urge to get a start on it tomorrow. Basically all of Thursday night through Sunday is supposed to be frigid as hell, so it'll be a good chance to knock another game out. And potentially start a new one given Astro Bot being a quicker game.

Disco Elysium: Done. #BacklogTour2026 is officially underway. What a trip. Did a moralist playthrough of it, but I could definitely see doing a more reckless playthrough in the future. Next game? Far Cry 6.

Now 18 hours into Disco Elysium. Can confirm that it slaps. From what I understand, I am very close to the endgame now. Incredibly tempted to keep going tonight, but probably a good idea to not be sleepy at work on a Monday.

Goal for 2026: Put a sizeable dent on (or clear out) my gaming backlog. I have 18 games currently on the list, along with 3 I want to go through again. First game up? Disco Elysium. Got about 5 hours deep already today. Really enjoying it so far.
