My first UG mentee @WLU accepted an offer to pursue her PhD @ UI Urbana-Champaign working on primate #microbiomes. She came into my microbiome class my 1st year as faculty planning on vet school & was inspired to do #research in my lab & hasn't looked back. Why I love what I do! So freaking proud.

Used the #thankamicrobe idea of @mostlymicrobes.bsky.social to teach my upperclass #microbiology students how we benefit from microbial metabolisms & it was awesome!
