The new LCC map of 'Dangerous Junctions (for cyclists) in London highlights the risks in north Kingston. Most dangerous junction is assessed to be Kings Road with Park Road (mini roundabout), 3rd is London Rd juntion with Birkenhead Ave (opposite ASDA), and #4 Queen's Road/ Crescent Road.

The righthand "Pedestrian Zone" (cycles allowed) sign disappeared in around 2022 we think. Kingston Council has recently placed a temporary version (but without the blue shared use sign). Anecdotally, there have been fewer cars parked here since the sign arrived.

Construction has started today to complete the Kingston to New Malden #Cycleway. With construction continuing on Ewell Road this means Kingston has two Cycleways under construction. New crossings being installed will make it safer for those walking too 🚲🏗️👍

Yay!!! After 6 years, the footway flooding problem on #SkerneRoad has been fixed. The lump of timber that blocked the drain and stopped rainwater getting to the drain has been replaced with the proper grill (presumably by Network Rail, whose access this is) Before and After pictures #SkerneRoad.

Make it as convenient as possible to get your bikes out. Cycle in normal clothes. Chores are never a chore when transported by bike.

Great opportunity for children to pick up practical life skills this summer in Kingston, because you're never too young to learn how to take care of your own bike.

We would 💚 to see Forest (or is it Human Forest?/ River?) expand their coverage in the borough of Kingston. At the moment, there are parts of the borough these bikes cannot reach.

I don't believe anyone should have to be brave to ride a bicycle.

It's a common fallacy that we need cars in the UK, and recently-announced EV grants, and roadbuilding plans, are simply entrenching a problem created by bad planning. Access to cycles, including e-cycles, could be transformative, plus access to decent, safe, walking and cycling routes

It would be really positive for #ActiveTravel if dockless hire bikes were allowed to be used throughout our borough. Someone is stiffling cycling. Let's see what we can do to improve things! @limebike.bsky.social
