I've been in a bit of a weird limbo with games recently. I still enjoy playing them, but it feels like I need to play something different. So tomorrow I'll be diving into a game series I've wanted to play for a long time but never got around to. Here's hoping I can get a feel for it! 🤞

When a Spiny Shell is about to hit a racer in Mario Kart World, it aims for the center of their model before exploding. For small racers, e.g. Goomba, this results in a single frame where it fully envelops them, giving off the appearance of the shell itself driving the vehicle.

This actually explains a lot. When I started playing it for the first time I suffered a pretty bad herniated disc and it took forever to heal (still have some sciatic pain sometimes) and the game significantly improved my depression and anxiety around that time. It truly is a wonderful game.

Bought Castlevania Advance Collection on the eShop since it's super cheap right now and I've never played a Castlevania game before. I'm planning on starting Aria of Sorrow first after I beat DQ7. Should be fun!

Even though I'm enjoying it, I might play a different type of JRPG after I finish Dragon Quest 7. I almost always stick with only turn-based combat but I want to mix it up a bit. One game series in particular has been in the back of my mind for years now, but I might be waiting some time for a sale.

My main plan for tomorrow

The wait is almost over. Mina the Hollower launches Spring 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Steam.

Never played a Castlevania game before, but this looks amazing. Might be the next game series I try to get in to. Anyone know if the Advance Collection is a good place to start?

DQ7 Reimagined is such a cozy game. It's exactly how I felt whilst playing through DQ11. I really do love this series.

One of the few announcements that piqued my interest in the Direct. I know very little about Digimon but I've heard this is pretty good. Might check it out at some point.

The original plan for today was to try and find a physical copy of DQ7 from one of 2 stores near me that were supposed to have them in-stock today, only to find they aren't stocking til next week. So...digital it is then. Again 🙃

The deed is done. After almost 200 hours, I've completed Persona 5 Royal. Crazy how long I slept on this game. It's no exaggeration to say it's a near-masterpiece and rightfully deserves it's title as one of the best JRPGs ever made. This was my first Persona game, but it will not be my last.

Looks like the Dragon Quest 7 remake is doing very well in the UK eShop charts! Excited to pick up my copy tomorrow!

Hoping for a Metaphor Refantazio Switch 2 port! Seems like it's bound to happen at some point and now seems the like the perfect time.

I almost gave up because of the final boss, but after much stubbornness, Octopath Traveler II is complete. I liked the majority of this game, though I suffered pretty bad skill issues with the break/boost system. Loved the exploration of the game though. Now I can continue with Persona 5.
