Having to check submissions hallucinated works, and getting the occasional email asking for an article that AI made up has added a whole load of value to the academic publishing game.

If I were Mark Zuckerberg and I wanted people to adopt my snooping glasses, the one thing I would do is make sure I, Mark Zuckerberg, was not pictured wearing my snooping glasses.

We once had a mouse living in our place and my brain convinced me every movement in my peripheral vision was that mouse, which became more stressful than the actual mouse. Anyway, It's like that with AI "tells". Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't; but you can drive yourself mad looking for it.

This, and a media space that allows people with opinions to make a career and feeds directly from incentivised social media is driving us to madness.
