17 years ago today I was getting ready for my first day of my first real job after graduation (I graduated in the winter). That seems insane to me. I’ve been a working adult for 17 years???

It’s late and I started the day with a migraine, but I did finish phase one of my office project: applying removable wallpaper to the backings of 4 Billy Bookshelves. Overall, it wasn’t too hard, and I didn’t need to make it as 110% perfect as I would on a wall.

Ok look I am a very tolerant person when it comes to neighbor bullshit, but they have been setting off the smoke alarm every day for several days in a row. I don’t know what’s different over there but I have only managed to set them off once. I actually burnt dinner last week and they didn’t go off!

Sometimes animal rescue is just driving to meet someone in a parking lot & taking some random animals. I’m currently the halfway house for a couple adoptions getting picked up this week. 2 guinea pigs & a mouse, which is new for me. The cats are obsessed. He is unbothered, in his lane, flourishing.

Flossie, the world’s oldest living cat, has celebrated her 30th birthday.

My goal this Christmas break was to assemble all this ikea furniture, install the bookshelves in my office, and finally feel like I’m not living out of boxes. So far so good in the bedroom, I’ve got a clothing rack and a set of shelves. Next up is a set of drawers which I know will be finicky.

The parking lot next door is an ice rink and I guess no one who parks there has ever seen ice before, since they are all just revving and spinning. It’s annoying and isn’t going to get them anywhere. Also I worry they will hit my car that’s parked on the road right next to the lot.

I think I’m going to have to find or make a comfy pad for this little ikea bed. I’ve seen them sitting on it but not sleeping in it. I guess when I get my office together I can try to remember how to use a sewing machine.

Sometimes I can’t believe how good Layla is. I got her a giant bag of pupperoni for Christmas, and I didn’t realize until this evening that I left it under the tree, open. Did my precious little pup steal any? She did not. I saw her walk over and sniff the bag and walk away.
