Tron: Ares comes to Disney+ on January 7. It didn't get a lot of love in the theater, but it was a fun movie. Great visuals and an awesome soundtrack by Nine Inch Nails. Give it a watch with the lights in the room turned off and have fun!

Some negative buzz going around about current X-Men comics, But I'll say that while not all the books have been my cup of tea, Jed McKay's X-Men books have been great fun, and I'm looking forward to what comes next after Age of Revelation. Gail Simone's book has been getting better and better too.

I barely use Facebook, and this weird spam keeps appearing about “More people are coming out as Berrisexual, here’s what that means!” Followed by the usual “people will come out as anything now, when is it enough?” comments.

X-Men: TAS thoughts continued: I never saw the episode with the Not-Brood as a kid, I never realized Rogue’s first kiss Cody came back and had such a dark ending! Not a great episode.

I used to listen to an X-Men podcast, one of the top ones, but I found myself not liking it anymore. It felt like they became friends with writers and editors of the previous era of comics, and when it ended, they dismissed what came after, one host even proudly saying they stopped reading X-Men.

X-Men: TAS thoughts continued: The animated versions of The Phoenix Saga and Dark Phoenix Saga still holds up today, remaining the best adaption of the original comics. And it's cool to see Rogue and Gambit in this version of the story, who weren't in the original.

Over the past year or so I’ve been gradually watching the 90s X-Men cartoon in preparation for my rewatch of #xmen97. I’m watching them in script order and was pleasantly surprised to see episodes I missed as a kid! Thoughts on the series to follow.

I finished playing #TheAlters and absolutely loved it. My Game of the Year so far, with an awesome story and a kick-ass soundtrack. A survival/base-management game that's fun to play and keeps you on your toes. It's on Game Pass but I'm going to buy it outright. @11bitstudios.bsky.social

I really want to see #Superman in theaters again, not sure I have the time to do it! It’s that good. I’m all-in on this new slate of DC films and TV.

I absolutely loved #Superman. James Gunn absolutely nailed the character and the cast was amazing. A film filled with action, heart, and thoughtfulness. This is the Clark Kent I’ve wanted to see in film for a long time. Highly recommended!

After reading today’s X-Men Monday on AIPT, I’m very happy to read this part. I’m glad they still acknowledge Ms. Marvel’s and Cyclops’s friendship, one of the best character developments for Scott in the past decade. #xspoilers #GiantSizeXMen

I gotta say, I enjoyed #Matlock this season, IMO the best new show I watched. It’s usually case-of-the-week but the season-long story threads keep it engaging and it’s so well acted. Looking forward to next season.

The X-Manhunt crossover in the X-Men books ended this week, and I didn’t like it very much. Some great art and a cool team up with Cyclops and Magik, but some moments didn’t make sense. I’m looking forward to the X-books doing their own thing without a crossover to hold them back. #xspoilers

I watched the first four episodes of #DaredevilBornAgain and wow, it’s great. The scene between Matt and Frank, one of the best I’ve seen in the MCU.

At the beginning of the year I started reviewing movies on Letterboxd. I thought I’d post a few of the recent movies here.

While it’s my least favorite of the main X-Men books, this week’s Uncanny X-Men was its best issue so far. The new kids have their strongest showing yet, and I like seeing Gambit and Nightcrawler arguing over beer. #Xspoilers

My first sports post of the year is to say that I really like the uniforms the Lions are wearing tonight.

I’ve finished reading the Inhumans vs. X-Men comics, and moved on to re-reading Champions. Such a fun book with Cyclops on a new team. Very cool to see current X-Men editor @tombrevoort.bsky.social was involved with that book. I’d love to see Scott and Ms. Marvel on the same team again.

I’ve finished re-reading Bendis’ X-Men run, and it still holds up! But then I moved on to post-Secret Wars X-Men and UGH, it’s clear they had no idea what to do with this Inhuman stuff.

The Superman teaser looks great! It looks like the kind of movie we really need around these times.

The most recent arc of X-Men: From the Ashes Infinity Comic starring Beak is my favorite arc so far. Heartfelt, emotional, and a great payoff. #xspoilers Juggernaut was also a highlight!

I started Dead Island 2 last night. I liked it so far! It’s colorful and the zombie “maiming” effects are great. Seeing a jawbone dangling from a zombie I just smashed with a pipe wrench and it’s still coming after me, pretty cool! Hope to play more soon.

I went to my wife’s Sip & Paint work social. Except there was no sipping, it was at Mission BBQ, and no one else brought their spouses, so I was the only dude. We ate BBQ and painted. It was a lot of fun, actually.

So far, I’m liking BlueSky much more than the alternative!

Officially deactivated my Twitter/X account. End of an era! Good riddance.

I officially deleted Twitter/X or whatever it’s called. It turned into right-wing garbage on election night, even more than usual. Right-wing accounts were coming through on my feed, when I never followed any at all. Now I gotta find out who’s on BlueSky!
