Update 1.6.1 is underway! Haven't tested it yet but it should stop the bombardment of log in prompts, and not have the ad buttons go in minus time to refresh 🙂 Also putting in the Dark Forest Story Levels in. Forgot how tedious it can be to put all of them together and balance everything🥲 #indiedev

I just want to clarify my game 'Benji!' does *not* have in-game purchases. No micro-transactions now or ever. It is completely free to play! In order to upload to Google Play I need to have some services enabled that automatically trigger the "in-app purchases" message even when I don't use it.

There is this Unity Ad that shows up every now and then which is from this game, where their main character is eating a 💩-icecream. He then needs to 💩 badly but the toilet is occupied by a zombie so he 💩's himself.. AND IS HAPPY ABOUT IT. How did that pass their regulations?! 😵

Remember to optimise your assets, like images that are used in your game! I reduced the majority of my images by like 75% because it was too big for Google, and it now accepted my update! left = unoptimised, right = optimised. That's about 32x smaller and no quality loss either! #indiedev #gamedev

So unfortunately I have a major issue that prevents me from uploading a new release to my app on Google Console. It's gonna take a couple days, but I'm creating a new app release under a different com. name, which means for this next update you'll need to uninstall and reinstall a different Benji.

Unreal successfully builds the Benji .apk 🥳 After some testing found there were some tweaks that needed to be made.. but that's easy 😅 Now for the game not to be rejected, just in case 😵

The universe is testing my patience. 🫩 Stuff going wrong with building and then the internet drops out the whole afternoon so I can't look up solutions 🥲 Found (most of) the issues and still trying to build. Hopefully playtesting on my phone after will go fine too! I'll get it done. 😤👍🏻 #indiedev

So I did run into a couple problems with building the new Benji version 🫩 For some reason all new files have a utf-16 encoding on them and Unreal doesn't like it. So it sounds like an easy fix right? Just change it to utf-8 🤷🏻 How does one do that? 🙂

Don't you just love it when you have an issue, and then you overthink it for days, weeks, MONTHS.. until finally it just clicks that the solution is super easy? Yeah. That's what just happened with me. And now the next update will have really nice collisions, no more weird bugs getting stuck! 🫠
