It's such a nice problem to have, but gosh, sometimes I wish there weren't so many cool games out there. Part of me SO wants to stream almost exclusively Doom wads. But I love RPGs too, and I want to explore more DOS games, and try all sorts of other random games.

The best part of game dev is making something I want to play myself! I still have a lot of fun every time I do a test playthrough of the current progress. Excited for all the different ways to play through once it's done too; Restricted to one weapon type per run, no HP upgrades, etc.

Today's Doom stream will be moved to tomorrow (Thursday). Got the arm pain that happens sometimes because of all the button mash in my teens. (RSI, I assume) If you tense up your arm muscles to mash faster, please stop doing that. It's very unpleasant later.

Gosh I wish Project Zero/Fatal Frame 1 and 2 were on PC. I could really go for a replay of those right now. Hopefully that remake of 2 will be good at least.

I sometimes wonder if I should change my YouTube video titles. Since the start, my format has been like "Drak's Gaming - Game Name [Ep#]". But 99% of the time, I see others do "Game Name [Ep#] - Drak's Gaming", or something. I imagine there's a good reason for it. Might do that next year.

Biiig progress working on Dragon Dreams today, and this week in general. Chief amongst the progress being that I FINALLY finished working on the map I started over a year ago! What I expect to be the hardest part of the game to make is out of the way, and that feels great.

This looks insane with all those possible combinations. Definitely gonna have to give the demo a go!

Gosh, that may have been my most stressful day of game making ever. One of those where things just weren't working for some reason, even though all logic said they should be. Little progress was made, but at least it's solved now. Break time. All just another part of the game dev experience.

Another few months, another devlog of slow progress. But hopefully it'll speed up once this map is finally done, and it very nearly is! All except the boss is done, and that's like half done itself. Hopefully a more substantial devlog at end of year!

For a long time, my stream schedule has been Mon/Tue, Wed/Thu, and Fri/Sat. Never Sunday. But starting next week, I'll be changing Fri/Sat into Sat/Sun. I figured it would be good to have a stream on the weekend, to give weekday workers more chance to catch some streams.

Oh boy, seems this summer has brought back my dry/sore eye problems for some reason. It's been years since this happened, and the moisturising eye drops have barely any effect. Hopefully will still try to stream today, but I guess there's uncertain times ahead for streams.

Ugh, actually you know what, maybe I will move Doom stream to tomorrow. Was a nice overcast start to the day, but has gotten gross hot again when the sun came out and started heating up my room. Tomorrow's supposed to be a little cooler anyway, I think. If I'm reading right.

Today's Doom stream, starting JENESIS, will be an hour later (7pm BST). Like 1 hour 30 from now. Was almost gonna cancel/move it to another day due to the heat lately, but luckily it's not quite as bad today.

Just hit 3000 hours in Clickteam Fusion 2.5! Most of that time being on the Dragon Dreams series. I've learned so much in the last 1000 alone about optimising with Parent/Child Events, and Global Events and Objects. Very satisfying having it all organised.

People seem to dislike the boss repeats in Elden Ring, but personally, I think it's a satisfying way to feel how much you've learned them, while still having at least a new attack or two, or different element to be careful of. (Except you, Tree Spirits... You're just milking it.)

For the currently 5 years of dev on Dragon Dreams, I've been unhappy with one of the weapons. Too easy to cheese enemies, albeit slowly. This week I finally got an idea to replace it with, and I'm happy. It feels unique, yet with limits to prevent cheese. A successful week!

It's so interesting how our perception of game graphics has changed over the years. I'm often amused thinking back to the mid-90s, how we thought these looked so realistic when they came out. Those were magical times....
