Initial thoughts: Marchment brings size and some offense on the wing. Freight-train approach in transition and creates slot chances. Chaos agent who takes a few too many penalties. Little downside with low acquisition cost; Kraken can likely get more back at the deadline if not playoff bound.

Among the new Seattle Kraken assistant coaches, none are veteran NHL power play coaches. Chris Taylor, in working with forwards in New Jersey, likely assisted, but Jeremy Colliton was reportedly in charge of the PP there. I suspect it will be Taylor and Jess Campbell combining in some fashion here.

The Seattle Kraken will receive the No. 57 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. Seattle obtained the pick from Tampa Bay in the Gourde, Bjorkstrand trade. The pick, which originally belonged to Toronto, locked at 57 with Toronto’s second-round loss to Florida. Would have been between 61-64 if Toronto won.
