I can't believe I'm saying this and it's not a meme, but polls close at 7 in Illinois, so if you're in line to vote, STAY IN LINE. You can register TODAY with a piece of business mail and vote TODAY. Every vote counts. It's a sunnier, nicer day out than we all thought it would be! Get out there!

I do not ID as catholic (although tbh I'm one confession away from good standing since I have received all sacraments for which I am eligible), but so much of my worldview was built by the Beatitudes that I've never seen any non-catholic christian acknowledge.

A cool thing about being a 40yro woman is that when I have a headache, I get to ask myself if it's the toddler plague, allergies, something the teen brought home, a migraine, the weather, perimenopause, brain tumor? with no real answers.

A New Thing for me is that the teen steals my clothes. My adoptive mom was bigger than me+died when I was 14 so I never had the opportunity. On one hand annoying bc I bought that dress for me, damnit. On the other grateful we have the option & that a teen likes my sartorial choices enuf to thieve 🥚

They won't start with banning birth control. First they'll lie about it. Then dictate who can prescribe it, use it, fund it, in what forms, and for how long. Suddenly, your doctor won't call you back. I know this is what they'll do because it's what they're doing to transgender healthcare right now.

The teen has been really into her computer science class lately (and considering she's going to attend a public HS that has an entire CS dept, this is a good thing). I want to get her started w/git (pun not intended) bc I still struggle. What's a good place to start that's 8th grade accessible?

the nice thing about having a teen in the house is that she will tell you that your hair looks like you're about to do skincare and then you know to do it differently before you walk out the door.
