I think it's great to see people being creative with their WoLs, but I don't think there should be any obligation to make them objectively interesting. Whether you have deep creative lore or play as the trailer Meteor WoL, as long as you enjoy your WoL and are having fun, that's all that matters.

Random thought for 8.0 Do you think Soken has seen how much people really liked the vocal tracks for Sonic Frontiers? I wouldn't be surprised if next expac we get songs like that. I will be surprised if the next 2 patches have a song like that.

FOR EXAMPLE! In Vic's story Roric never goes to the First for ShB. In Roric's AU Victoria gets pulled into the First because G'raha was fishing for his friend Roric and grabbed his niece instead. She gets grabbed shortly after Thancred so she spent a similar amount of time in the First with him.

If it seems like I keep flip flopping or retconning stuff in Victoria's lore it's because I have this nasty habit of constantly coming up with new idea. If they line up just right with what I already established I just, put it in, or if it sounds better than what I had before I make a change.

Victoria for the most part is pretty lore compliant (aside from her first name lol), but I do bend and twist the canon and narrative to better suit her character and growth. Her Job acquisitions, relationships with people, and her background were me making a few bends and twists here and there.

People put SO much into their wols, its fine if you personally don't enjoy their wols but also maybe you should consider keeping that fact to yourself. Just an idea.

Aside from FFXIV probably Super Mario World. I don't play it often as I'd like, but it was the first video game I ever played so it has a level of comfort to it that no other game has reached for me. That or Sonic Adventurer 1 and 2 if I just play them casually.

I will eventually get to FFXVI since it's just been sitting there in my Steam Library for months. I liked what I saw in the demo and heard good things from friends, but the writer also wrote for FFXIV Heavensward. Heavensward had a strong beginning and finale, and a very meh middle.

Remember when Thancred punched Emmanellain? Victoria thought that was kinda hot so it all started there lol. Their mutual attraction began during HW's patches when they both realized how much they had grown and changed. They were running on very coincidental parallels that just so happen to align.

Depending on who's MC things play out differently for the other character, but some things are set in stone. - Vic loses her right eye at Rhalgr's Reach - Roric will always have MNK and WAR as his Jobs - Vic hooks up with Thancred - Roric will steal Thancred's HW drip for DT, etc.

Listening to the Before Meteor (FFXIV 1.0) soundtrack it's incredible how many tracks from it saw use even as of Dawntrail. A good number of them were by Nobou Uematsu too since he composed a lot of 1.0's soundtrack.

No joke for as great as Peter is I do unironically kinda miss Thancred's ARR voice. Not sure how he would've handled the more emotionally intensive scenes, but I totally buy the gentlemanly ladies' man thief thing he had in ARR.

Playing through ARR again on my Roric alt made me remember how not great the voice work really was. Almost everyone either sounds directionless, didn't have the right range for certain scenes making certain moments unintentionally funny, or you could tell were Americans trying to sound British lol.

Anytime I have desire to revisit MSQ I will always run shit with Duty Support. I legit forgot this guy had adds.

I think I'll make this his ARR hair and save the DT Meteor hair for Dawntrail. Unlike Vic I feel like his hair could change more.

My favorite thing about FFXIV that I don't recall if the expacs did this was NPCs irrelevant to the MSQ having their own little arcs as you progressed the story. But yeah if my sarcasm hasn't given it away she gets a VERY bad end. Most fucked up way to end one's story.
