Yesterday, I sat down with Mayor Knack of Edmonton, in my capacity as Chair of the Prairie North Caucus. We discussed the issues that matter to Edmontonians, Winnipeggers, and all residents of Canada's Prairie provinces, as well as the importance of national unity at this time of global rupture.

It was nice to spend time with congregants at Shaarey Zedek this morning for celebration, reflection, and common purpose. It has been a difficult week for them and the broader community following several antisemitic attacks.

Today is the 6th anniversary of the downing of Flight PS752, a tragedy that claimed 176 lives, including 8 members from Winnipeg’s Iranian community. My thoughts today are with the victims’ families and loved ones, who continue to bear the weight of this loss.

It is always a pleasure to spend time with members of Winnipeg’s Iranian community. Last night was a gathering to celebrate Yalda - which marks the winter solstice. Wishing everyone in the community a Happy Yalda and New Year ahead.

Congratulations to the Winnipeg Section of the National Council of Jewish Women of Canada on their 100th anniversary! Since 1925, the council has embodied the Jewish principle of tikkun olam, or repairing the world, through education, service and social action.

It’s becoming harder to even find the words. Sending my love to Jews in Australia, Winnipeg South Centre, and around the country. May the blessings of being around loved ones for the first night of Hanukkah this evening help bring some measure of joy and comfort in the shadows of this awful attack.

As the House gets set to rise for the holidays, I took a moment at the end of our Industry Committee meeting yesterday to thank members of all Parties, political staff, our analysts and clerk, as well as the Parliamentary administration for their service & contributions to Canada & our democracy.

This evening, I hosted the Prairie North Caucus Social to give members and staff the chance to relax and enjoy some time together before the holidays. No Manitoba social event is complete without Honey Dill Sauce, so my team brought some out all the way from Winnipeg!

Today, we remember the fourteen young women whose lives were stolen at Polytechnique Montréal 36 years ago. Their names are a solemn reminder of the devastating toll of gender-based violence — and the responsibility that comes with our remembrance.

Earlier this week, I stood in the House of Commons to celebrate civically-engaged students from Winnipeg South Centre. I’m proud of their leadership and dedication to community.

Budget 2025 sets aside key investments for the Build Communities Fund to help support grassroots projects.

Budget 2025 includes the $5 Billion Health Infrastructure fund that will go towards building hospitals, emergency rooms, urgent care centres, and medical schools.

Recently, I met with Britt Moberg, daughter of Winnipegger Earl Moberg who went missing two years ago. Britt and my constituent, Ashleigh Mitchell, have dedicated the past few years to advocating for dementia patients and their families.

Weekly Update: ✅ Hosted the Finance Minister alongside the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce for a post-budget discussion. ✅ Met with University of Manitoba President Dr. Michael Benarroch. ✅ Continued study on Productivity and Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy at Committee. ✅ Passed Budget 2025.

It was really nice returning to Ecole Robert H. Smith last week. It is where I began my teaching career and continues to serve our community as a strong primary school.

Questioning the Prime Minister’s loyalty to Canada because he’s overseas securing trade deals isn’t the kind of serious leadership Canadians expect.

On November 16th, I joined the Prime Minister and my colleagues in commemorating Louis Riel Day. This year marked the 140th anniversary of his execution. Louis Riel was a champion of the rights of the Métis and the principles of fairness, justice, and unity.

While in Winnipeg I met and took questions from the Earl Grey Press Corps. This group of students meets several times a week and publishes a school newspaper. It was great to meet such an engaged and civically minded group of young people working on developing impressive media literacy skills.
