I'm learning that the captains do very fkn little through all phases of flight. Sure, they're the pilot in command, they have responsibility, but while the first officer is playing euro DJ on every switch, and balancing plates while juggling the captain touches a couple of switches and just relaxes.

I start my command training next week. The first week is spent getting my ATPL (airline transport pilot licence) which means I can captain multi crew aircraft. Then I spend 6 weeks being checked to line where I fly with training captains to make sure I'm ready to take command. Then.. I'm a Captain.
