I’ve got quite a bit of tidying and organising done today, around the house, including clearing the space for the Christmas tree. So tomorrow will be tree and decorations day. Bit later putting it up than usual but I’ve been ill most of December.

Starting to feel better, but have got so exhausted with getting so little sleep, I’ve taken this afternoon off and I think a nap is in order. I rarely sleep during the day in case it mucks up sleeping at night, but I’m knackered 😴

I’ve just put a chicken in the oven ☺️ At lunchtime I had avocado on toast and drank a whole pint of milk. I think my appetite is gradually making a comeback.

I now have in my possession a packet of penicillin, so am hoping this does the trick and gets rid of throat infection finally. 🦠 🔨

Off to mum’s, for a birthday lunch for my sister, she and hubby are up at mum’s for a couple of days. Still feel like death warmed up but I have washed my hair and painted my face so I should be reasonably acceptable. 🤧

Still not feeling right, and have little appetite, which is really unusual for me. I’m usually ravenous when ill. I just had yoghurt and a banana for dinner, and I forced myself to have anything.

I didn’t feel like eating at all, but I made myself have a few crackers with cottage cheese, a raw carrot and an apple. Think I feel a teensy bit better for it.

I can’t get warm today, not with central heating on, wood burner, thermals, blankets, I’m so uncomfortable 😣 Sometimes I’m randomly boiling for a few minutes, then freezing again. 🤒

Ordered something to be delivered to mum’s, DHL messed it up, left a sorry we missed you card at a neighbour’s house (for some reason?) with a QR code for further information, mum does not have a smart phone. Why can’t you just take a second to write on the card??? 😤

Ugh I feel worse this morning, awful sore throat that makes even a cup of tea painful 😣

I bought a bottle of wine as a tiny celebration of a good thing that happened during the week. Just had two small glasses with dinner, and am tipsy af. I don’t buy wine any more and have clearly lost all tolerance 😂 This is generally a good thing, but I can’t even celebrate things now 🤪🥂

I’m so tired today, I actually went to bed for a nap this afternoon. (Cats were delighted and came with me). I think the full day of socialising at the work away day yesterday, bright lights and noisy chatter the whole day, just totally did for me.

Work Christmas buffet today was all the kinds of food I shouldn’t eat, all of it was bread or pastry or sugary or deep fried. Honestly if there had just been some cold meat, cheese and fruit, I could have eaten just that and been fine, but no. There wasn’t even any fruit. Am Grinch. 🥴

Worked slightly later than usual this afternoon and Elsa just came and shouted at me. She’s a great believer in work-life balance*. *snacks
