Last gig of the week- Industry ( Berlin) in Bristol. I like his band, though slightly staggered that they are influenced by Exit-Stance who were pretty obscure even back in the pretty obscure world of 80s anarcho- punk. Been a good week.

Found myself at a loose end last night so went to see Wiccans and Traumatizer in a tiny basement in Bristol. Traumatizer were particularly pulverizing. Next up Industry on Saturday.

Thoroughly enjoyed The Saints 73-78 in Bristol last night. I'd forgotten how many great songs they had, highlight was a storming run through of Know Your Product with full brass section. Glad I finally made my mind up to go.

Rainy day sorting out my messy record collection, seems I have a taller collection of Nomeansno than Cardiacs. Though, had I remembered to add my copy of LSD would have been a Cardiacs victory as it's about a foot thick.

Fantastic weekend in Belgium following Dead Bob around for a couple of gigs, great mix of their stuff and a few Nomeansno classics. Great to see John Wright drumming again.

Been both excited and slightly apprehensive about new Cardiacs stuff. Happy to say both Woodeneye and Downup are belters. Still wonder what they'd sound like with Tim at the controls and on vocals though.

Found myself unexpectedly emotional watching Geraint Thomas on his last stage of his career in Cardiff today. Glad I managed to get to the Tumble to see him yesterday.

Hitting the hardcore punk shops in Koenji, Tokyo and ended up buying a single from my friend's band I loved with on site in our new age traveller days....small world etc

Brilliant gig last night at Rockaway Park with The Mob, Interrobang? and Bad Breeding. So good to see The Mob again.

Gnod/White Hills in Bristol last night, fantastic, so much heavier than the record. I'm in awe of God's pedal that delivers a wall of clean sustain/ drone/distortion, absolute treat when deployed. Listened to In Search of Space on the way home which seemed fitting.

I've dithered about getting this, but treated myself for my 60th. What a thing of beauty. And pictures from the first time I saw them at Oxford New Age Fayre Free Festival in 86, a gig I've sometimes wondered if I only imagined.

Much needed trip to the coast today. Damn, I miss living by the seaside.

#todayslistening. Spent the afternoon wandering Bristol being staggered by the prices of anything vaguely rare in the secondhand record shops listening to recent Metalheadz releases. Then switched to this piece of stark bass brilliance, having seen the cd of it in an Oxfam shop
