🚨New paper alert🚨 A hot liquid can freeze faster than a cold liquid, a counterintuitive phenomenon called the Mpemba effect. In our new paper, we argue that a quantum version of this effect is ubiquitous across a large variety of chaotic quantum systems. arxiv.org/abs/2505.17181

Our featured article for April 2025 Quantum electrodynamics on a 1D lattice can lead to localization of charges, in contrast to the thermalizing dynamics. New paper 🚨 arxiv.org/abs/2503.10761 Can quantum properties of black holes be realized in condensed matter models? We show that a chiral spin-chain which naturally admits a black hole description, realizes the Hayden-Preskill quantum teleportation protocol and shows Hawking-like radiation!
