There are certain benefits to switching mediums once in a while. I learned a lot about 2d art by switching to pixels from painting. It also tends to expose your weaknesses well. The trick is, however, is not to spread yourself too thin. I'm yet to internalize that part of the advice

one particular issue i struggle with is style. when i say i dont have one, which technically is untrue, as style is basically your handwriting, essentially, what i mean is that i like so many other people's styles and approaches i struggle to pick one and stick to it long enough to git gud

A great advice for any artist who wants to maintain their social media presence is to only post art, no reposts, no random ass thoughts, no goofs etc. etc. to make the first and only impression your page gives be of your art. Bollocks to that.

as im slowly chewing through two pieces that are kicking my ass (one for each cheek), i bring you my first attempts at pixel art back when i knew even less of what im doing

one thing i need to get better at, among *vague gesture at everything*, is making radical changes in my art. too often i get stuck polishing a turd, and it goes nowhere, but the more time i spend the harder it is to say "screw it" over parts of it, and easier over the entire thing

man i wish i could enjoy doing art for the sake of doing art, i so envy people who draw for fun. i only do art because i want thing, thing no exist, make thing. that and all the cool people i get to interact with

today i learned indieweb is a thing, and has been for a long while. i like cara, and i like bsky, and i think microblogging and portfolio sites are nice, especially when they aint yet ran down into the ground by corpos. but still, there's a certain charm in intentionality of indie web
