What are you grateful for?

The only thing stronger than hate is love. If I asked you to name all the things you love, how long until you name yourself?

“I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.” —Louisa May Alcott This is something that I think about often that's helped me - I've let go of the idea that things get easier, as that's honestly out of my control. Things don't get easier, I get stronger.

And if I asked you to name all the things you love, how long until you name yourself?

Sad boy Dante. Some days I do feel down or lacking in motivation due to one reason or another. I can’t control how I feel, but I can control how I react to my own feelings. I name them. I sit with them and journal them. Then I get on doing the things that I know make me feel better.

What are you grateful for today?

“You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice.” —Bob Marley Someone once told me that “change occurs when pain outweighs fear” and that always stuck with me. We change when we have to, maybe even are brave when we have to be.

When you get a little too excited about being on a yacht in Greece (and also realize the €30 sunscreen was a fake 🦞

“If we never try, we shall never succeed” —Abraham Lincoln I try daily to be an active participant in my own life, rather than a passive one. I don’t hope that the future I want for myself happens, I make choices every day to try and create that future.

I used to have a mentality of “if I can’t do my whole workout, why bother” but I realized how self-sabotaging that is. Anything is better than nothing, even if it’s just a little.

“Give yourself permission to rest. You don’t have to be everything to everyone.” —Unknown I always say boundaries are how we love ourselves and tell others how to love us. Good fences make good neighbors.

It's very easy to lose sight of progress, but don't forget to take stock and be proud of how far you've come.

We have to let go of this idea that rest = lazy. Resting is a massive part of self-care, and rest is, in and of itself, productive. Don't shame yourself for needing rest, that's just being human.
