I’m currently recording vocals for a song I have released before. For some reason, I wrote new lyrics for that version. I’m returning to the original lyrics as written, which hold the anxiety, angst and hope that it should have. Making things right for this much heavier version.

I’ve always known that my music doesn’t follow the beaten path. I purposefully am doing it how I want to. Not to fit in. This is essentially a ME Unleashed project!

I recorded vocals on a song last night!

Happy Monday! I’ve been working on getting decent mixes before starting to record vocals on the current 10 album songs. I also wrote lyrics for the final song #11 ! I plan on getting that one in the studio soon…just needs a little more songwriting.

I was asked recently why I released “Cuz I Waited” as the only single for my upcoming album when it’s not even heavy like the rest of the album will be? It’s a song that immediately resonates with friends who knew the awesome person the song is about. It made sense to release it as a single.

I’m excited to say that all instruments are recorded on 10 songs for my album! I have an 11th song in the writing stage, which I didn’t plan on, but this heavy rocker will fit right in! I can guarantee that it will be the final song in the studio for a complete album.

Sam Rivers was the bassist for the best rhythm section in rock. He will be missed.

I love playing bass in Drop C tuning. That low string bouncing around…the low booming buzz on the fingertip…love it.

Funny news. The last time I recorded bass, one of its knobs (the tone) was turned down all the way unknowingly. Because I had the live track so loud, I thought it was fine. Now I can’t get the bass tone I want in the mix. So…I need to record it again. 😂

Just like I say every time I get a new song coming together… This is my best song! 😁

My second vocal session was so much better than the first. Now I just need to mix it, then on to the next!

I rerecorded both the bass and rhythm guitars parts yesterday for my new song. I had done that the day before, but something wasn’t quite right. Had a bad day I guess. This time, I focused hard on tuning by ear (not just trusting the tuner) and playing in perfect rhythm, and it turned out great!

Just got confirmation that my chosen album art artist has accepted the task for my upcoming album!

I got the guitar solos just how I wanted them! Now it’s bass’s turn! The nice thing about being an independent musician is I can do what I want. I have an album full of songs to work on, but I feel like working on this one right now! 🤘😁

My imposter syndrome is in action when I record a guitar solo. This drummer definitely respects the guitar. 🎸 I’m not worried. I’ll get it. 🤘😁

My song “Fire” got some attention last week that I didn’t ask for, and I released it a few years ago. It was a mix of punk and a solid touch of metal, with heavy guitars. I actually wrote that song 25 years ago.

I have drums complete on all songs for the album as of last night! There is a chance that another song will come to life before I’m done with these songs and I’ll need to get drums done, but we will see!
