Most people I see mention this album criticise his singing, but I love Pete Sinfield's "Still" warts n' all. Recorded at Command at the same time as KC's LTIA, it's a wistful collection of musical snapshots, some sepia, some hand-tinted, that evokes a summer when the possibilities seemed endless.

Back in the office today to write about. . .King Crimson. Many thanks to everyone who braved the broiling weather in London on Sunday at our In The Wake Of Poseidon listening party. Lots of fun, laughter and great music.

Following my conversation with ex-Soft Machine drummer Phil Howard last month, I found a recording of his from 1970 when he was earning a living playing cocktail jazz on the supper club circuit. See below for a sample

under the weather and a right old mess of stress I took sanctuary in the church - for a free lunchtime organ recital. I recorded one bit because it was so quiet: the same volume as the stones surrounding us and the feet shuffling on the floor; more gossip than organ. I then filmed bits and pieces.
