A year after the Armistice, on the night of 11th - 12th of November, a "Great Victory Ball" was held at the Royal Albert Hall and this massive hedonistic booze up lasted until 5 am the following morning. Check out the costumes.

My college tutor introduced me as a way to keep up with government quangos involved with farming and wildlife. It has broadened its scope brilliantly but somehow now feels more relevant to New Zealand where people have multiple jobs but are kind to each other 😉

Can’t help feeling my mood would improve considerably if the shrill hectoring of the hysterical Robinson was replaced with the calm and forensic questioning of Dymond. Still it does get me out of bed. To turn the radio off.

It's only worth going back to the Moon if it makes us look properly again at Earth, and appreciate how beautiful, precious and fragile what we have here is. The most famous images from Apollo aren't about the Moon - they're pictures of Earth. We need to stop taking our home for granted.
