I just think people should make the fiction they want, people should consume the fiction they're comfortable engaging with, and governments and payment processors should fuck off out of this conversation.

Indie creators shouldn’t have to turn into emotionless cryptids that appear once in a blue moon to share their works and otherwise have no online presence in order to survive *checks notes* creating a popular cartoon. But I don’t know how else they’re supposed to navigate this bullshit.

Artists don't make great art trying to make the audience happy. The best art is fundamentally a bit selfish; trying to make the best possible version of what THEY want to see. When audiences demand their whims and wants be catered to they're not asking for art, they're demanding a product.

I gotta lock in and make some sweet arts today.

It's crazy how often I tell myself I need to replace/upgrade things, only to remember the core of all my problems is I don't have a stable income and I'm always barely keeping myself afloat.

I'm currently transcribing an old manuscript from a novel I'm writing and I'm slowly reworking it to make it a lot more cohesive. One thing I'm learning is that you can easily do worldbuilding by simply having just a quick blurb from the characters while staying focused on the story.

Ok, despite everything... I am relatively debt free... For now... But I'm still stuck rationing my cash until I land the next commission so... Gonna take a small break after a very busy morning, play Castlevania on my phone a bit, and then I'm gonna get to work.
