I'm thinking about flavours derived from yeast for my latest in What's Brewing.

"It’s not often you come away from a piece of beer writing thinking, “Huh, we really must try a Heineken,” but Laura has achieved that here." Exactly how I felt about the whole thing. Always a thrill to be included in the B&B roundup.

Sometimes I feel slightly resentful that it can take me a whole afternoon to confirm a small piece of historical information that translates to just a sentence or two in a finished article. But also, I feel a bit smug when I know I've got it right and almost everyone else in Internetland hasn't.

Today we had lunch in the beer garden, picked wild garlic and made scones - and I saw a Facebook post with Signs of Spring on a bar. Spring has arrived, friends.

Really lovely to help launch Hobsons Brewery's IWCBD beer, Six Sirens, in Cleobury Mortimer tonight, ably assisted by Ludlow's epic Pizza Girls. Oh, what a night.

Ordered takeaway for the family even though I'm not there, and I'll just get whatever's left microwaved in a few hours. See? Work, family... you can have it all! 😂

I've just seen a transcription of a newspaper advert that read "knees on application" instead of "price on application." Which made me laugh.
