Today I was the first woman to brew at The All Nations Inn brewhouse since Mrs Eliza Lewis herself. We brewed Eliza Lewis 4.3% pale in her honour. Oh, but #iwcbd is cool. #belonging

The baby was having a little cry about Morrighan before she went to sleep tonight. It's so awful not being able to offer her any consolation beyond the assurance that that little cat lived a long, happy life.

Bam Bam and I have been creating our own shirts with the fabric pens we got for Christmas (and some of Mama's linoprints).

Found myself standing in the cat food aisle this week feeling a bit confused. So many little changes to every routine when you don't have pets anymore.

Today I've managed to engineer an excuse for a daytime trip to the All Nations Inn, so I'm patting myself on the back.

Full wet weather gear for the school run today. Bammers splashed in 116 puddles (she counted) and then was unpeeled at the school door with a completely dry uniform and bag. Sometimes being a non-driving parent pays off.

Nine teams in for my pub quiz tonight, two had to sit in the bar because we were at capacity in the lounge. Appreciate my pub people for not letting January/rain put them off. Plus one round was called Frogs and That and another was Pink Things, so it was all intellectually sound.

Peter Hill told me about the landlord of the Rising Sun in Tir Phil being the warden for his area in case of nuclear attack in the 80s. This has caused me to discover an ABSOLUTE GEM of a video from 1978. Stop what you're doing and watch it. You'll thank me for it.

Just heard the Weighbridge in Burton has closed. Hope someone new can be found to take it on since it's a wonderful little building. It outlived Muirhouse Brewery by nearly 18 months, but now the end appears to have come.

My latest article for The Telegraph looks at the union sets - what they are, why they're important and how Springbanks Brewery in Wolverhampton looks set to save one of the two operational sets in the UK from destruction.

Went to the Community Grocery - got a big bag of chicken drumsticks, some very fancy wild garlic Cumberland sausages, a cauliflower, 2 Barilla pasta sauces and a big bottle of berry Kefir drink stuff for the princely sum of £5. I haven't told The Boy that I also purchased a 3ft rainbow Xmas tree.

Bammers let me know that when she wears a jumper at school, sometimes the boys tease her because "they are for boys". We have reaffirmed that anyone that is people-shaped can wear a jumper and anyone that says otherwise is probably a bit silly. Good to see fragile male egos building well at 6yrs.

First craft project of the year is complete.
