Outerbelt St at E Broad St Intersection Closure - Starts May 26, Expected to Last Until Approximately June 10  Drivers should follow the posted detour signage and use Broughton Ave east of Outerbelt St to McCormick Blvd/Rosehill Rd back to Broad St, or vice versa.

It's National Public Works Week! Every member of our Public Service team works hard to keep Columbus moving forward every day. Whether they are doing highly visible work or making behind-the-scenes contributions, their efforts are the foundation of a thriving Columbus.

Starting May 26, Mock Rd west of Sunbury Rd will be open to eastbound-only traffic for approximately 3 months, weather dependent, while construction progresses on a city Recreation and Parks project installing a Mock Rd shared-use path to connect to the Alum Creek Trail.

***SERVICE CHANGE NOTIFICATION*** City of Columbus trash collection service will not be provided on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. Weekly recycling and yard waste service that falls on or after the holiday will be delayed by one day the week of the holiday.

Future engineers from OSU hit the streets with our team🚲 After learning about initiatives like Vision Zero, Bike Plus, and LinkUS, students got to see transportation planning in action and helped conduct mock infrastructure assessments.

Tussing Rd weekend closure  Tussing Rd at Brice Rd will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, May 1, until 5 a.m. Sunday, May 3, for drainage work on the ODOT Far East Freeway project. Brice Rd between Chantry Dr and I-70 will have various lane restrictions during this weekend work.

SWACO and the City of Columbus are partnering to keep more food waste out of the landfill and put it to better use.  The enclosed composting system will process food scraps, reduce transportation impacts, and create finished compost for local community gardens!

Our team was proud to represent Columbus this morning at the 2026 APWA North American Snow Conference, where we accepted the Excellence in Snow and Ice Control Award. This achievement makes us the first third-time winner of this award!

Take Your Child to Work Day 2026! We had an incredible, fun-filled day with our kiddos painting plows, crafting, racing trash cans, meeting the mayor and checking out the different technology and tools our department uses to keep our city moving each day.

Vision Zero and the @cbusneighbor 311 team presented at @colscityschools Yorktown Middle School today for #TrafficSafetyAwarenessWeek, teaching students how to be safer passengers, cyclists and pedestrians, and providing them with resources to improve their community.

Capital City Half Marathon Closures April 24 - 25 The quarter and half marathons start at 8 a.m. at High St and Town St next to Columbus Commons. Rolling street closures will occur along the run routes.

Unpredictable work zones require full focus. In 2024, more than half of all fatal work zone crashes occurred at night. Distractions were involved in more than one in eight fatal work zone crashes. Pay attention, especially at night. #NWZAW

With construction season back in swing, it is important to respect work zones so we can ALL get home. On average, at least two people are killed in work zones every day. This includes workers, as well as drivers, their passengers, and people walking, biking or scooting. #NWZAW

Street closures are in place downtown while emergency vehicles respond to a reported fire at the former YMCA building on Long St at Front St. • Southbound Front St is closed at Spring St • Northbound Front St is closed at Gay St • Eastbound Long St is closed at Marconi Blvd
