One of the more joyous excursions on our final meet of 2025 in the Anti-Atlas was a team ascent of 'Tusker' at Boar Walls. A total of 9 climbers on the summit & an atmospheric descent made for a memorable changeover day as attendees headed from Ida Ougnidif to Tafraout for the 2nd half of the trip.

2025 AC Highlights 🔟 We end the year with a bittersweet highlight as Simon Richardson's term as AC president comes to an end. Because we're an old Club that loves tradition (and inventing new ones), Simon handed over the ceremonial 'chain of office' to incoming president Duncan Sperry.

It's tough to have your brithday this close to Christmas, and we're not quite sure what our founders were thinking when they established the AC on 22 December 168 years ago. (Though going by his look, maybe the Chair of that founding meeting, E S Kennedy, had deliveries to make on the 25th).

2025 AC Highlights 3️⃣ Our climbing highlight of 2025 was James Price & George Ponsonby's ascent of Aikache Chhok (6673m). Not just one of the most impressive climbs of 2025, but also the culmination of our Young Alpinist Group programme, which prepares climbers for exactly this kind of challenge.

2025 AC Highlights 1️⃣ Our first highlight from the year is a thread that's run throughout the last 12 months - the strong revival of the Alpine Climbing Group, which culmnated with an incredibly successful meet in the Bregaglia in August, with multiple ascents of the Badile and Cengalo.
